Have the idiots in Immigration actually got efficient – or are they
just being their usual devious selves? An item headed “Migration
benefits under microscope” appeared in The Age on Wednesday.
“An Immigration Department study will investigate the costs and
benefits of migration and examine the concentration of ethnic groups in
certain areas,” it read. “The department has called tenders for the
$180,000 project, which will help the government identify strategies to
promote ‘social cohesion and integration of migrants’…”
It’s an important issue – more than ever in an age of terror – but the
story seems to have appeared before the tender documents appeared on
the departmental website. DIMIA wagging the dog?
