The RU486 vote is over, but an abortion war will
continue to rage in Canberra. This means it’s time for another Crikey list – a
list of politicians who have tried to dodge the draft.
There wasn’t a final vote in the House on the RU486
bill. That was stomped on by the PM. But we can draw up a table of the pols who
didn’t speak on the legislation.
Do these people have the courage of their
convictions? Do they know what their convictions are? Don’t their constituents
have a right to know where they stand on this issue?
Like all politicians, they want to be taken
seriously – but aren’t prepared to take a serious issue seriously enough to put
their views on the record.
Time to name ‘em and shame ‘em. Nominations to christian@crikey.com.au.
