Australian business might lead the way in donations to political parties, but there are some generous individuals out there as well. Here are some individuals who either personally or through their businesses made donations to political parties.

Frank Lowy (through Westfield Capital Corporation): The federal Liberal Party takes the prize for the biggest single donation, receiving $160,000 in February last year. But the Labor Party were not ignored, with the NSW branch receiving $93,600 and the federal branch banking $104,000.

Dr Stanley Ho: the Hong Kong businessman with links to the Packer family sent $109,000 the way of the NSW Labor party.

Lang Walker (through Walker Corporation): Property mogul Lang Walker gifted $27,010 to the NSW Labor party, with the SA branch receiving $25,000 and the federal Liberal party $100,000.

Henry Ergas: Founder and Managing Director of the Network Economics Consulting Group and former microeconomist at the OECD, donated $20,000 to the Liberal Party of Queensland, and $20,000 to the Menzies Research Centre Limited.

Hugh Morgan: former CEO of Western Mining and former President of the Business Council of Australia sent $20,000 to the federal Liberal Party.

Baillieu Myer: the Melbourne establishment former retailer sent $20,000 to the federal Liberal Party.

Gordon Darling: $17,500 to the Victorian Liberals from another blueblood.

Phil Cornish: Longtime supporter put $15,000 the Liberals’ way.
