Should pollsters be able to canvass your opinion on Sundays? Yes? No? Don’t know? That’s fine; I’m a Seventh Day Adventist anyway?
Well, The Sydney Morning Herald reports today “Pollsters may still be able to call on Sundays despite Federal Government moves to protect householders from nuisance telemarketing calls.”
The official reason why? “It wants to ensure pollsters can generate accurate political opinion surveys before this year’s federal election.”
And the unofficial reason? Clearly, the government feel it needs all the polling it can get.
That may be an even more telling indicator than the headline figures on any poll.
