Here it is folks — the Crikey/Media Monitors Tuesday Top Twenty for the week of April 23-29.
The leaders top the charts — as usual — but Julia Gillard has leapt six places to number three after her performance of “Workin’ 9 to 5” at the Labor National Conference and the IR policy release.
Peter Costello also moved up the charts on the back of a good CPI figure. Pity it’s now closed, but there was a nightclub in Melbourne that would have been a good place for him and his entourage to celebrate. It was called Inflation.
Amanda Vanstone’s leapt 23 spots. Her Under Southern Skies might be a dud, but she’s had a smash with Roma, Roma, Roma.
And we have a newbie in the charts. Greg Combet crashes in at number 10. And his song? “I’m just a boy whose intentions are good, oh Lord please don’t let me be misunderstood.”
There’s more on the week’s issues at Media Monitors Media Index.
