The Labor Party would have comfortably won an election held earlier this week, according to the latest Morgan Poll — although the party’s primary vote has dipped.
Labor leads the two-party preferred vote 55 to 45%, according to Morgan telephone polling conducted on June 13/14, just as it did in the previous poll.
Labor’s primary support, however, has dropped to 43.5% from 46% on 5-7 June. The Coalition’s primary vote remains unchanged on 40%, while the Greens has risen two points from 7.5 to 9.5%.
Newspoll returns next week, and the Sydney and Melbourne Fairfax broadsheets will be carrying an ACNielsen.
It will be the last sitting week before Parliament rises for winter – with both parties hoping for a little poll warmth.
