Crikey’s upmarket lowlife experts on New York, however, aren’t that sure.

“Score’s is so the techboom era,” says one.

“Kevin, Warren and Col could have had a better evening if they combined a NY steakhouse dinner with a strip bar and gone to Robert’s at the Penthouse Executive Club.

“A review in New York Magazine said it all. It quoted a female bartender as saying: ‘You got a piece of meat right here and a piece of ass right there. It’s the American dream’.”

Scores, however, might be a sensitive sort of strip joint.

“The clientele is at least 30% female,” another Crikey NY nightlife expert says.
