Lleyton Hewitt is out of Wimbledon after being done over in straight sets by Roger “clay court choker” Federer, so now the Aussie battler is taking a break from the game for the rest of the year while he tries to heal a hip injury.  Still there is a consolation: a little baby bonus, courtesy not of the government, but of trashmag land. Sydney Confidential tells:

The latest tell-all, posed at the Hewitts’ luxury Wimbledon rental home, is rumoured in management circles to have netted the celebrity parents $100,000. That is the same amount Hewitt was guaranteed to receive in prizemoney from his fourth-round clash against reigning Wimbledon champion Roger Federer last night.

As an aside, we do like the Daily Tele‘s description of “Bec’s fullsome appearance in a maternity-style top” — the appearance that sparked rumours she was with child once more.   The Hewitts have already had relationships with New Idea (Seven network) and Woman’s Day (ACP Magazines). Now OK magazine, which is a UK based magazine with an Australian edition, has come to the party, offering $100K for first dibs on baby exclusives.  Meanwhile, will the second child get an inferiority complex? The deal is worth a tenth of the $1 million deal for baby Mia’s first year with Woman’s Day (and that’s not counting the contract extension).  The Hewitts have of course complained about the way media outlets (Woman’s Day included) have made up stories about them, especially about dearest Bec who, it is claimed, has pined for her man as he toured the world building his fortune towards the $20 million mark.  But there she was last week showing the hint of a “baby bump”. It was denied by a flack — that is, until overnight when it was revealed that the moaning Hewitts had successfully extracted a fat fee from another sucker. Nice for some.  Read about Lleyton and Bec’s adventures at their blog. (Lleyton’s spray at the mags who publish “imaginary journalism” is quite an entertaining read)
