Sarah Palin has echoed John McCain’s foreign policy themes from his RNC speech last week in her first press interview since accepting the Republican VP nomination last week.

In an interview with ABC News, Palin defended her experience, “categorized the Russian invasion of Georgia as “unacceptable” and warned of the threats from Islamic terrorists and a nuclear Iran.”

If Georgia and Ukraine join NATO, which Palin advocates, the US might have to consider war with Russia, she added.

“And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable,” she told ABC News’ Gibson.
