John McCain is “pulling out all the stops” in the traditionally Democratic state of Pennsylvania, where he hopes to capitalise on Obama‘s big loss there to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, reports the Wall Street Journal.
“As Sen. McCain tries to beat back challenges from Barack Obama in many states President Bush carried in 2004, he still has hopes in Pennsylvania. Sen. Obama lost big in the April primary here to Sen. Hillary Clinton, with large numbers of white working-class voters harboring doubts about the Illinois senator.
“The McCain campaign has a massive operation enlisting Democrats supporting the GOP ticket to recruit other Democrats in Pennsylvania, targeting voters right down to the precinct level, according to Mike DuHaime, the campaign’s political director.”
