The Winners: Packed To The Rafters was top of the list with 1.894 million people, from Today Tonight with 1.509 million. Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation averaged 1.503 million for Ten in 3rd spot. Seven News was 4th with 1.500 million and the 7pm repeat of Two and a half Men averaged 1.382 million. A Current Affair was 6th with the second part of its special and it averaged a solid 1.375 million (down just 10,000 from Monday night). Air Ways averaged 1.306 million at 7.40pm for Seven and Surf Patrol at 8pm on Seven averaged 1.292 million. Nine News was 9th with 1.274 million and Seven’s Home and Away was 10th with 1.225 million. Nine’s 20 to 1 repeat averaged 1.169 million at 7.30pm and the second repeat episode of NCIS at 9.30pm averaged 1.167 million. The 8.30pm repeat of NCIS on Ten averaged 1.149 million and Seven’s All Saints at 9.30pm averaged a lowish 1.078 million and second behind Ten. 15th was the 8.30pm repeat of Two and a Half Men with 1.070 million and 16th was the 7pm ABC News with 1.012 million.

The Losers: Commercial Breakdown on Nine at 9.30pm: 737,000 hardy souls clung to some forlorn hope last night for this program. I don’t know why. Deal or No Deal, 707,000. Eddie McGuire’s Hot Seat passed it last night at 5.30pm with 779,000 viewers. Eddie is on a roll, Deal or No Deal isn’t.

News & CA: Seven News again won nationally and in every market but Melbourne; Today Tonight won everywhere and nationally. The 7.30 Report averaged 805,000, Lateline, 215,000, Lateline Business, 117,000. Ten News averaged 868,000, the late News/Sports Tonight, 530,000. SBS News at 6.30pm, 189,000, Insight at 7.30pm, 191,000, the late SBS News, 173,000. 7am Sunrise, 394,000, 7am Today, 349,000 which is very solid for Today.

The Stats: Seven won All People 6pm to Midnight with 31.3% (31.5% a week ago) from Ten on 26.5% (25.9%) and Nine with 24.3% (23.8%). The ABC was on 13.6% (15.2%) and SBS was on 4.3% (3.6%). Nine won all five metro markets and leads the week 30.0% to 26.4% for Nine. In regional areas a win to Prime/7Qld with 32.6%, from Southern Cross (Ten) with 24.5%, WIN/NBN for Nine with 22.9%, the ABC with 14.4% and SBS on 5.6%. Seven and Ten split the demos on the night.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: Packed To The Rafters is on Seven, Seven wins and opens a big lead for the week. That’s Tuesday nights. Nine is a bit closer than last week though and Seven will have trouble with Thursday night if it keeps Double Take and TV Burp in the schedule.

TONIGHT: The ABC is the highlight with Spicks and Specks at 8.30pm, The Librarians and United States of Tara at 9.30pm. Seven has The World’s Strictest Parents at 7.30pm, Nine has RPA and The Gift. Ten has the fresh episode of The Simpsons, SBS a repeat of Food Safari.
