The Winners: Seven News was tops with 1.457 million, with the World’s Strictest Parents second at 7.30pm for Seven with 1.407 million. Today Tonight was third with 1.233 million and Spicks and Specks was 4th on the ABC at 8.30pm with 1.214 million viewers. Home and Away won the 7pm slot with 1.206 million and 5th spot nationally, while City Homicide won the 8.30pm to 9.30pm timeslot with 1.175 million. A Current Affair was 7th and averaged 1.135 million for Nine and the 7.30pm episode of Two and a Half Men averaged 1.134 million at 7.30pm and the 7pm repeat on Nine averaged 1.118 million. Nine News was 10th with 1.116 million, RPA finished 11th at 8.30pm for Nine with 1.074 million and the 7pm ABC News averaged 1.035 million. Nine’s Money For Jam averaged 1.018 million at 8pm and The Gift at 9pm on Nine averaged the same figure and was the final program, with a million or more viewers. The 9.30pm repeat of Criminal Minds averaged 806,000 and the second Simpsons episode on Ten at 8pm averaged 842,000 and was Ten’s most watched program for the night.

The Losers: Star Stories on the ABC at 9pm, 712,000, United States of Tara at 9.30pm, 715,000. Law and Order UK over two hours on Ten from 8.30pm, 593,000 for the first episode and 507,000 at 9.30pm.

News & CA: Seven News again won nationally and in every market. Today Tonight won everywhere bar Brisbane where ACA got home. Seven News averaged 394,000. Ten News was again low with 760,000. Ten’s late News/Sports Tonight averaged 230,000. The 7.30 Report averaged 949,000 (and had 312,000 viewers in Sydney). Lateline averaged 260,000, Lateline Business, 162,000. SBS News at 6.30pm averaged 187,000 and the 9.30pm edition averaged, 176,000. Nine’s late News averaged 215,000. Sunrise at 7am beat Today clearly, 385,000 to 306,000, reversing the Tuesday win for Today.

The Stats: Seven won the 6pm to midnight all people battle with 29.9% (28.1%). Nine was second with 27.5% for the combined main and digital channels (28.5% a week ago for the combined figure). Ten was on a combined 17.1% (18.3%), the ABC was on 20.6% (20.2%) and SBS was on 4.8% (5.0%). Seven won all five metro markets. Seven leads the week, 29.0% to 28.3% for Nine on a combined basis. Seven won all the demos.

Digitally: Nine and the ABC tied for first spot. ABC 2 was on 2.20% (ABC 1, the main channel on 18.4%), Nine’s GO was on 2.20% and the main channel, 25.30%, Ten’s ONE was on 1.10%, Ten’s main channel was on 16.00% and SBS TWO was on 0.40% and SBS One, 4.40%.

In regional areas a win to Prime/7Qld with 31.5% from WIN/NBN with 27.9%, the ABC third with 18.3%, Ten (Southern Cross) with 15.8% and SBS on 6.5%.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: Seven won from Nine. Ten was 4th, again. Nothing else to be said, it was a FAQ night with Spicks and Specks and City Homicide the quality shows at 8.30pm.

TONIGHT: Getaway and the AFL Footy Show on Nine. Ten has Rush at 8.30pm, The 7pm Project and starts Glee at 7.30pm which might be worth a visit. The ABC has the Skippy doco at 8.,30pm which is the night’s highlight.

Q&A at 9.30pm. Family Feast and Costa’s Garden on SBS from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Seven has a black hole at 7.30pm and is now having to run back to back episodes of The Amazing Race from 8.30pm to 10.30pm when Double Take appears for half an hour. TV Burp seems to have been, well, burped out of the schedule.
