The TV networks really have missed the point when it comes to establishing a presence on Twitter. Instead of using it to enhance the brand, they instead use it solely as promotion, giving teasers to stories on the TV that night. I don’t know about you, but I have a one-to-two second memory span for that sort of promotion and often forget about it well before the news is even close to airing.
An exchange on Twitter this afternoon between the Ch 9 Brisbane News Twitter account and Ch 7 Brisbane journo Patrick Condren gave me a chuckle or two.
So Nine News Brisbane went and got their own back.
And on it went. It was the Twitter equivalent of The Human Centipede.
