Crikey is rolling out a series of essays under the umbrella theme of Big Ideas. These essays aren’t limited by anything other than a big brief. We’ve had enough of sound bites set on repeat, glib slogans and half-baked committees — we’re looking for the vision thing.
Contributors to the series include Sophie Cunningham, John Quiggin, Benjamin Law, Daniel Petre, Kate Holden and Marcus Westbury.
We’d also like to hear from you. One Crikey subscriber will get the chance to share their Big Idea with our readers: send us a three-line pitch, on an issue of national importance that gets you fired up, to boss@crikey.com.au with ‘Big Ideas’ in the subject line.
The winning pitch will feature as the concluding essay in the series in mid-December.
