This is Robert taking the train on his way to come and live with us.
This photo was taken at North Melbourne train station as Robert prepared to consume a Metro Trains Customer Service person whole. Robert is a Miniature Giant Squid (Sepia apama), and despite his fearsome appearance and unorthodox appetites, he is a gentle and thoughtful fellow. No Metro Trains Customer Service people were injured or consumed whole during the making of this journey (more’s the pity).
It took Robert no time at all to make himself at home. This photo shows him helping us to sort out the Cuisenaire rods after we discovered they had ants in them!
Ants! In the Cuisenaire rods! Here is one of the ants next to the USB Cable from a Wacom Tablet (actual size).
And here is Robert helping to take down the Christmas decorations. He is already just one of the family. Thanks Robert!
(Robert was a gift from my publicist who I may have mentioned previously)
