British treasure Stephen Fry is bringing his popular television quiz show to Australia, in a limited run of ‘live on stage!’ specials.
QI is a quiz show in which Stephen Fry challenges his panelists in with questions, the answer of which are inevitably ‘quite interesting’. Running for the best part of a decade on the BBC, it has recently enjoyed success in Australia on the ABC, despite the scheduling being that of a moving target.
Joined by QI regular Alan Davies and a panel of yet to be announced Australian comedians, the tour will hopefully be filmed as well, forming the bulk of an upcoming series of QI (each series focuses on a letter theme, which means the tour will be based on either I or J topics, depending on where they’re up to filming in the UK).
Shows will take place in Perth at Burswood Theatre (21 – 23 Oct), Melbourne at Her Majesty’s Theatre (25 – 29 Oct) and Brisbane at QPAC Concert Hall (31 Oct – 2 Nov). Tickets seem to start at a $99 for an obstructed view… but you’re getting a 2 ½ hour show for that.
