Murdoch appointed Ten chairman. Lachlan Murdoch has this morning been appointed non-executive chairman of Ten Network, making way for star recruit James Warburton to become managing director.

The Kiwi billionaire with eyes on Tassie. Richard Chandler sent Gunns’ shares soaring this week when he announced he’s looking to pour millions of dollars — $150 million to be precise — into Tasmanian timber company Gunns.

NSW Art Gallery finds replacement for Capon. The worldwide hunt to find a new director of the Art Gallery of NSW is finally over. The gallery this morning announced that Michael Brand, a Canberra-born Asian art specialist, will be former director Edmund Capon’s replacement.
Brand, a former director of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, has most recently worked as a consulting director of the Aga Khan Museum currently under construction in Toronto. — The Power Index (read the full story here)
