Long-form journalism website The Global Mail has lost two prominent members of its high-profile editorial advisory committee and a corporate director.

Crikey understands that five-time Walkley winner and impressive ALP-interpreter Pam Williams resigned from the committee shortly after founding editor Monica Attard’s exit on May 8, as did Administrative Appeals Tribunal member and ex-journos’ union secretary Anne Britton.

Global Mail corporate director, accountant Jenny Wheatley, has also upped sticks, leaving Afghan media mogul Saad Mohseni as the site’s sole “board member” alongside chairman and Greens donor Graeme Wood.

Two weeks ago, Lauren Martin was named as TGM‘s new editor after stepping in to Attard’s shoes. But the site’s “about” page has been slow to report the changes: Wheatley’s name has been deleted but Williams and Britton — who were recruited by Attard — remain up in lights. And there is no formal mention of Martin, the wife of business writer Mike Seccombe.

The Global Mail has struggled to attract clicks since its launch in February, with some readers uncomfortable with its trademark left-to-right scrolling interface.

According to web information service Alexa, TGM is ranked 4230 in popularity in Australia and 231,351 globally.
