Glenn Dyer’s TV ratings

It is going to be a very hard slog for Ten to get viewers to watch its new breakfast program Wake Up and the morning effort, Studio 10. Wake Up had 80,000 national/52,000 metro/ 28,000 regional viewers and Studio 10 had 83,000 national/ 61,000 metro/ 22,000 regional viewers. Executive producer Adam Boland described it as a promising start. That will only be justified if Wake Up and Studio 10 don’t lose viewers from now on.

Seven’s Sunrise  dominated the morning, with 605,000 national/ 368,000 metro/ 237,000 regional viewers. Nine’s Today was also solid with 471,000 national/ 321,000 metro/ 150,000 regional viewers.  Seven’s The Morning Show had 289,000 national/ 189,000 metro/ 100,000 regional viewers and Nine’s Mornings had 185,000 national/ 135,000 metro/ 50,000 regional viewers). News Breakfast on ABC1 and News24 had a combined 153,000 national/ 88,000 metro/ 65,000 regional viewers. It lost viewers from last week, while Sunrise and Today were around normal figures for the past two months.

Nine won the night in metro markets. Ten was weak again because of the incredibly poor prime time line up. The ABC did well with its news and current affairs line up. Big Brother perked up with an eviction night with 1.417 million national/ 992,000 metro/425,000 regional viewers, most of which were in the younger demos.

And, in bad news for Ten for 2014, one of its high profile US series, Crisis has been sent on what NBC described it, as a ‘course correction’. Five epis0des have been made after the pilot. Some of the completed episodes will be reworked.
