Glenn Dyer’s TV ratings

A night to forget if you were not into renovations or stupidity. The renos of course refer to The Block Glasshouse on Nine. Stupidity of course refers to Big Brother, also on Nine, and also to The Bachelor on Ten. SBS offered lots of food, ABC 1 offered not much but the charming The Dreamhouse which ended last night. A classier story and house compared with what BB is presenting to us nightly — less tack, more fact and heartfelt honesty.

The upshot is that Nine had a big, big win last night. The Block Glasshouse had 1.847 million national/1.283 million metro/565,000 regional viewers, while BB had 1.240 million national/881,000 metro/359,000 regional viewers. End of story for the night.

The Bachelor on Ten had 869,0000 national/646,000 metro/243,000 regional viewers. In the race to the bottom, BB is leading, which is not that fair because The Bach is the pits — a fluffed up meat market.

Losers: Um, us viewers. ABC 1’s Silk went all earnest on us, and became boring. The TV atrocities were again on display — BB on Nine and The Bach on Ten.
