That would have to have been one of the more satisfying nights of ratings this year for Seven, just as last Tuesday was. 800 Words continued to dominate viewing, as did The X Factor. The Chase Australia continues to whack Nine’s Hot Seat, and Sunrise beat the tripping Today for a second day. Seven had the four top programs in metro markets, and four of the top five nationally (and the top three in the regionals). A very dominant night.

800 Words had 1.9 million national viewers, with a massive 730,000 of those in the regions. The X Factor had nearly 1.6 million national viewers, with 597,000 of those in the regions. Seven News again won the metros thanks to a narrowing of the losing margins to Nine News in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The 5.30pm episode of The Chase Australia had 1.034 million national viewers, to Hot Seat’s 803,000. In the metros the margin over Hot Seat was also substantial at 100,000 (647,000 to 546,000). At breakfast in the metros, Sunrise with 309,000 was in front of the touring Today on 291,000.
