While Malcolm Turnbull spent the morning praising Australia’s public servants, calling on them to be agile and innovative and flexible, we received a tip informing us that the Department of Human Services was struggling with the digital world. According to our tipster, the department had spent big on training videos that were hosted on YouTube — a website that is blocked on most DHS computers. A media representative tells Crikey that all internal staff training videos are available on a staff intranet, not on YouTube. Training videos for people dealing with DHS, showing people how to apply for a Centrelink payment for example, are available on YouTube, but also on the staff intranet.
