A night that most of us missed, judging by the low figures and the composition of the “most watched” lists. After the 6pm to 7.30pm news and current affair time slots, it was a ratings waste land, with the exception of The Bachelor on Ten (1.036 million national viewers, including 771,000 in the metros). The other standout was The Checkout on the ABC — 939,000 national viewers and 675,000 in the metros.

In the regions, Seven News was again on top with 629,000 viewers, with Home and Away second with 524,000. The Chase Australia 5.30pm on 521,000, Seven News/Today Tonight with 501,000, and the 7pm ABC News was fifth with 363,000.

Today had a big win in metro breakfast yesterday — 311,000 to 269,000 for Sunrise. Sunrise still won nationally.
