Seven’s night in metro and regional markets and tonight it will be Nine’s as the Australian TV audience chills out in front of the third and final ODI between Australia and New Zealand from the MCG.

The top five metro programs last night were all news and current affairs — Seven News/Today Tonight was tops with 912,000, followed by Seven News with 889,000, Nine News was third with 773,000, with Nine News 6.30 fourth on 761,000, while ACA was fifth with 709,000. In the regions Seven news was again top with 537,000, followed by Seven News/Today Tonight with 489,000, then Home and Away with 456,000, The 5.30pm bit of The Chase Australia was fourth with 336,000 and the 7pm ABC News was fifth with 306,000.

And that summed up the night and the second week of summer, and much of 2016.
