On the Whitlam dismissal letters

John Richardson writes:  Re. “Will Turnbull ever urge the Queen to release Whitlam Dismissal letters?” (Monday).

Given all the brouhaha around last week’s allegations that China is interfering with Australia’s democracy, how ironic is it that Jenny Hocking has to call-out the same alleged behaviour on the part of the Windsor family of the United Kingdom & various unnamed US security officials some 40 odd years after the events in 1975.

It seems that the Australian government is less concerned with the alleged undermining of our nation’s sovereignty than it is with who is allegedly doing the undermining.

On the improving fortunes of One Nation

Terry Goulden writes: Re. “Poll Bludger: voters return in droves to the One Nation bandwagon” (Monday)

I don’t know why anyone would assume that One Nation supporters would be turned off by the scandals of Hanson and Ashby. I have never assumed that people who vote for One Nation are overly blessed with morals or ethics.
