Nine won with MAFS (1.394 million) and Paramedics (889,000). But the big story — which Nine skated over, again — was the weakness of Today where it was comprehensively whipped by ABC’s News Breakfast, nationally and in the metros.

News Breakfast had 300,000 viewers nationally and 205,000 in the metros. Today had 283,000 nationally and 183,000 in the metros. That is the biggest win News Breakfast has had over Today. That caps off an increasingly weak period for Today and lead host, Karl Stefanovic. The rot is setting in.

In the regions, Seven News hit 507,000, Seven News (6.30) garnered 468,000, Home and Away made 362,000, MAFS managed 345,000, and the ABC’s 7pm news bulletin finished with 324,000.
