Gee, Channels Netflix and Stan are going to get a work out tonight. but I started last night, but have Mank (Stan) and the latest series of The Crown (Netflix) down for some long viewing (AKA Bingeing — drink, a pinot gris, I think, or perhaps some bubble) over the weekend.

Mum on the ABC on Friday night might be the only free to air program worth watching, apart from the PBS News on SBS around 1pm Saturday.

Nine’s night — The Block — 1.01 million was the most-watched non-news program. It could have been any ep from the series, there’s so little competition on the other networks. It was good night folks after that.

On Foxtel, an odd event — the top program on Thursday night was Outback Opal Hunters on the Discovery Channel with 71,000) and not the usual  Sky News After Dark barkers, Paul Murray (67,000), Alan Jones (61,000), Andrew Bolt (57,000), Peta Credlin (56,000). The barkers have been dominating the top 20 program list on Foxtel for months now. Seeing they are as interesting as a bag of rocks, it is somehow appropriate that looking for a valuable rock topped them, at least on one night.

In breakfast, Sunrise 464,000 nationally and 260,000 metro viewers; Today with 336,000/228,000; ABC News Breakfast 287,000/193,000 (down on earlier in the week as the interest in the US elections fades) .

In regional markets Seven News, 508,000; Seven News 6.30, 487,000; Home and Away, 348,000; 7pm ABC News, 322,000; The Chase Australia 5.30pm 307,000.
