Seven won total people but Nine won the main channels, with tune-ins for both networks’ 6 to 7pm news broadcasts again a noticeable feature — along with higher audiences for the 7pm ABC news and 7.30.
More than 200,000 people tuned into the 6 to 8pm news and current affairs broadcasts because of the continuing COVID lockdown story in Victoria and especially Melbourne. Nine News’ 402,000 for 6 to 6.30pm was the highest audience anywhere for a single program in any market last night.
In breakfast, more people tuned into Sunrise and ABC News Breakfast but not Today whose audience dipped a fraction from the previous Monday morning.
Big Brother averaged 880,000 for Seven but the most watched post-8pm program was Have You Been Paying Attention? on Ten — 994,000 and ninth nationally. 7.30 had 989,000 and more viewers than BB or Celebrity Apprentice (Have You Been Paying Attention? streeted the opposition in the demos, with help from MasterChef).
A big worry for Nine, Celebrity Apprentice’s average across the entire program last night was 790,000, down 15% from Sunday night’s 945,000. Not a good look.
Breakfast: Sunrise, 445,000 nationally and 326,000 metro; Today, 304,000 and 207,000; ABC News Breakfast, 271,000 and 173,000.
