Welcome to Crikey’s Electioncast, a new podcast offering an independent and honest look at the politics and policy in the lead-up to the 2022 federal election. Each day Crikey’s journalists will give you a no-spin look at what Australia’s politicians are doing to win your votes.
Polarisation is spreading across the Western world, fuelled by growing inequality, globalisation, the loss of privilege of white heterosexual males, and the fragmentation of media and the growth of far-right, anti-democratic media. On today’s episode of the Electioncast, political editor Bernard Keane explains to associate editor Amber Schultz how Scott Morrison has taken advantage of this polarisation in the past, but now runs the risk of it blowing up in his face.
Electioncast is available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and wherever you listen to your podcasts.
At 1:17 BK says “Polarisation is a phenomenon quite separate from Scott Morrison”
I beg to differ. Morrison has pursued policies that widen inequality and increase polarisation. He’s done far more than merely exploit it!
Rupert’s fear n loathing campaign assistance is the difference once again.
Peta Credlin’s hubby doesn’t have to work all that hard………once again.
If any face is worth something blowing up in front of then his certainly fits the bill. So sick of this Prime Smugness. So sick of his poncing about with his “Look at me. I can do this job, I can do that job, But acting as a real Prime Minister. That’s not my Job”. Just a poseur (French) Miriam Webster’s definition: : a person who pretends to be what he or she is not : an affected or insincere person.
