The battle for Coles continues and the PR war between rival bidders Wesfarmers and KKR is hotting up.
Wesfarmers has the warm and fuzzies covered. As Crikey said on Wednesday, the Australian company is appealing to mum and dad shareholders by playing Robin Hood to KKR’s King John. But baddies sure have big coffers. And King KKR is using them wisely — they’ve hired Crosby Textor to help with negotiations in Canberra.
Will the good guys win? Or will KKR take over because, as Dark Helmet so wisely intoned in Spaceballs, “evil will always triumph because good is dumb”.
