Did Queensland Health know how dodgy its pay system was? I have it on very good authority from people working on the inside of the debacle that the new system had more than 200 known errors and they made the decision to run live with it anyway. Also, the reason they were up against the wall was that they had run out of time on the licensing of the old system and didn’t want to have to pay for another year’s licence and maintenance, so they just decided to cut loose and run with the new system with no fall-back plan.  So basically they could not manage either the timeframes or the risks, or even the most basic of best practice, with one of the most critical systems in the largest Queensland government department.

SMH Hacked
