Some shameless PR puffery in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph by Federal Minister for the Environment and Heritage, Ian Campbell, may well come back to bite him on the bum.
“Australians are increasingly aware of climate change and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” the Senator says, before going on to plug the Easy Being Green campaign:
I welcome the joint initiative of The Daily Telegraph and the Easy Being Green organisation to involve every household in NSW and ACT in the greenhouse challenge.
Practical action like installing the Easy Being Green climate saver packs containing six energy-saving light globes and a AAA-rated water saving showerhead show people they can be part of the solution…
Er… Yes, Minister. The Easy Being Green program exists under the umbrella of the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme. It’s an emissions trading scheme.
One of those emissions trading schemes Campbell and the feds oppose.
