Everyone knows you’re only as good as your last five games, which is why Crikey, in the lead up to all the September action, will be publishing the AFL and NRL Hot Form Charts each Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Crikey’s Hot Form Charts order the teams according to their performances over the last five rounds only. Tipsters can use the form lines for their selections and supporters can track just how their team’s recent form is shaping up against the rest of the competition.

AFL

In the AFL, the Hot Form Chart round 15 provides some illuminating statistics. Geelong’s stellar form is no surprise but the Eagles’ dire run is screamingly apparent by their lowly position of 15th. The reigning premiers are ahead only of Carlton who have conceeded a whopping 741 points over the last five rounds.

Essendon’s slide out of the eight is highlighted by their drop down the Hot Form Chart. The Bombers have fallen six places this week, and now sit 13th. Conversely, the Saints, Swans and Port Power have all shot up the Chart by 6 places. Port Adelaide, in particular, are showing the benefits of quick ball movement. After belting the Eagles last weekend, the Power have amassed 606 points over the last five rounds, making them the highest scoring team in the competition over that period.

The Bulldogs are sitting 7th on the AFL ladder but their recent form has them second only to Geelong on the Chart. The Kangaroos and Hawks make up an all Victorian top 4 on the Crikey AFL Hot Form Chart.
