John McCain was left looking red-faced after he was publicly stood-up by Joe the plumber at an Ohio rally, writes the Wall Street Journal.
“At a rally today, John McCain was finishing his riff on how Joe, also known as Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, had gotten Barack Obama to say that he wants to “spread the wealth around.” At that point, he went looking for Joe.
“Joe’s with us today,” McCain said. “Joe where are you? Where is Joe? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today.”
“After a four second pause, he realized that Joe was not present this chilly morning at Defiance Junior High School.”
