So to the state elections, and a couple of one-paper towns, where on polling eve the message to voters is clear.
In South Australia, The Advertiser writes:
“It’s clear SA is ready for fresh ideas and leadership and the Liberal Party is best placed to deliver this. We must free business from unnecessary shackles and create a bold new path to prosperity for now and future generations.
The job of governing South Australia for the next four years will be no easy ride. But, after 12 years of Labor, the Liberal Party should be given the opportunity to put its plan into action.”
And in Tasmania, The Mercury writes:
“It is fair to say Labor has lost the support of Tasmanians and the Liberals are the beneficiaries, and as such will have much to prove. But, equally, Mr [Liberal leader Will] Hodgman has carried out a largely faultless campaign and the only glove landed on him over the past month came courtesy of Mick Newell.
“So for now we argue it is time for a change.”
We reckon voters should make up their own minds. But according to the polls, they already have. The News Corp tabloids are on the right side of history.
