Another good night for Nine with the Australian Open averaging 1.10 million people watching — Rafael Nadal is a drawcard. Seven’s Test cricket did OK. It averaged 859,000 for the third and final session in prime time, with 681,000 for the first session of the Big Bash game that followed from Perth (helped by the three hour time delay). A further 253,000 watched the night session of the Test on Fox Cricket — pushing the total audience past a million for the night.
But the star once again was I’m A Celebrity on Ten — 968,000 last night (with a solid 288,000 in regional markets). Last night followed the 1 million-plus audience from Sunday. It was the most watched program for under 50s last night and is dominating the younger demos. Ten says that in the 7.30pm timeslot ‘Celebrity is up 34% year on year.
Top five programs in regional markets were Seven’s 6pm News with 392,000, then Seven News/Today Tonight with 377,000, I’m A Celebrity with 288,000, then the 7pm ABC News with 286,000 and the Australian Open with 270,000.
