In the morning breakfast battle, Sunrise cracked the half a million level nationally with 510,000 viewers (and 293,000 in the metros). Today dipped to 299,000. Its regional audience of 90,000 was again beaten by ABC News Breakfast with 107,000. David Koch’s abrasive interview with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg on Sunrise regarding the banking royal commission’s final report helps explain the wide gap with Today.

In regional markets Seven’s 6pm News and Seven News/Today Tonight won with 547,000 each, over MKR with 414,000, MAFS with 380,000 and The Good Doctor with 349,000.
