Karl Stefanovic

MAFS (1.44 million nationally, down from a high 1.583 million a week ago), again did it for Nine, even if the recent softness in audience numbers was apparent. (Doctor Doctor helped with 820,000, down from 834,000 a week ago.)

But it was another miserable breakfast for Nine — Today had its second sub-300,000 national audience (288,000) and sub-200,000 metro (186,000) in a row. It’s still not as bad as Tuesday morning when the metro figure hit 173,000, the lowest for Karl Stefanovic’s second coming as a Nine Messiah.

Seven’s Sunrise sails on — 460,000 nationally and 265,000 in the metros. The ABC’s Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell’s sketch on ABC chair Ita Buttrose was tough but fair.

In the regions, Seven News 6.30 had 504,000, Seven News had 486,000, MAFS had 385,000, Home and Away had 342,000, and 7pm ABC News had 298,000.
